New Partnership Expands Potential
for Improving Thinking, Judgment

ETi, the San Diego Community College District's unit that customizes training programs for business, industry, and public service agencies, has formed a partnership to offer the services of Business Processes, Inc., (BPI).

"Not only are we offering the five core programs BPI has developed to help organizations streamline their thinking processes," says Robin Carvajal, "we're adopting those processes within our organization. This means BPI's expertise in honing thought processes will be readily available to our clients."

Carvajal, a 15-year veteran of the Community College District's workforce development initiatives, says she is impressed with the simplicity of BPI's programs. "This consulting company has created thinking systems that allow members of organizations to speak the same language in problem solving, to determine what information is important and what can be ignored, and how to focus on what is important in a multi-tasking world that threatens to make everyone suffer attention deficit disorder."

"We're aware that there are many competing project management and decision-making models on the market," Carvajal says. "The BPi system is deeply rooted in primary research on best thinking practices. It's applicable to all the clients ETi serves, including public agencies, utilities, the medical industry, small business, high tech, hospitality, and the military. It is built to deliver organization-wide results."

ETi, the non-profit Employee Training Institute, has trained more than 40,000 individuals and worked with more than 700 companies on various levels of workforce development in the San Diego region. BPI, based in La Jolla, has worked with national companies including Commonwealth Edison, DaimlerChrysler, General Motors, IBM, John Alden Insurance, Merck & Company, New York Stock Exchange, Steelcase, and Verizon Wireless since the company's inception in 1977.
